The waxed knot
Fix a troublesome knot in place so it cannot tighten around you.
What you’ll need
- Cotton cord
- Soft modeling beeswax
- A piece of paper
The ritual
- Write the trouble on paper and tie one loose knot in the cord over it.
- Press softened beeswax around the knot without using heat.
- Say, “Hold where you are; tighten no farther.”
- Store the fixed knot until the matter stabilizes, then peel away the wax and untie the cord.
