The empty spool
Leave a manipulator with no thread to pull and no reaction to unwind.
What you’ll need
- An empty wooden spool
- A short thread
- A paper tag
The ritual
- Write the reaction being sought on the tag.
- Wind the thread once around the empty spool and tie the tag to its end.
- Unwind it immediately and remove the tag, leaving the spool bare.
- Keep the empty spool visible to you as a cue to give the manipulation nothing to pull.
