The broken-promise jar
Bind the weight of a broken promise to the person responsible for repairing it.
What you’ll need
- A clean jar
- Two strips of paper
- A short length of twine
The ritual
- Write the promise on one strip and what repair would require on the other.
- Tear the first strip once through the middle and leave the second whole.
- Place both in the jar, wind the twine around the outside, and tie it firmly.
- Keep the jar closed until amends are made or you release the expectation, then recycle its contents.
