The spindle turning back
Reverse a pattern of manipulation by winding its own words back toward their origin.
What you’ll need
- A wooden spool
- A length of thread
- Paper and pencil
The ritual
- Write three manipulative phrases or tactics on narrow strips of paper.
- Wind the thread around the spool, trapping each strip beneath a new layer.
- Turn the spool counterclockwise three times and say, “Your pattern returns to you.”
- Store it until you can name and resist the tactic without hesitation, then unwind and discard the strips.
