The cold-tea steeping
Cool a bitter exchange until its sharpest words lose their strength.
What you’ll need
- A used tea bag
- A cup of cold water
- A strip of paper
The ritual
- Write the exchange on the paper and set it beneath the cup.
- Place the used tea bag in cold water without reheating it.
- Let it steep while naming the words you refuse to repeat.
- Compost the tea bag, pour away the water, and replace the paper with a calmer response.
