The closed book of rumors
Close a rumor’s story before it gains another chapter through repetition.
What you’ll need
- An unused notebook
- A strip of black ribbon
- A pencil
The ritual
- Write the rumor on the final page of the notebook.
- Under it write the verified truth, or “No evidence” if the facts are unknown.
- Close the book from back to front and tie the black ribbon around it.
- Keep it closed for one lunar cycle and refuse to repeat the rumor during that time.
