The clear water abundance
A clear water working with clarity disturbed by the slightest contact to focus attention on sustainable resources and the next practical step.
Meaning and practice
The clear water form approaches focus attention on sustainable resources and the next practical step through clarity disturbed by the slightest contact. Clear water reveals every ripple and refuses the fiction of unaffected observation. That symbolism gives the rite its limit: the object can expose a decision, but only the following action can carry it into life.
Name the intervention that would test whether the situation is truly stable. That demand is what distinguishes this clear water rite from another abundance: its conclusion depends on the specific problem carried by a bowl of clean water, not on a generic promise of change.
Sources behind this working
Folklore of Scottish Lochs and Springs
James M. Mackinlay · 1893
The source records historical uses and meanings of objects in the same family as a bowl of clean water. Clear water reveals every ripple and refuses the fiction of unaffected observation. This working applies that documented motif to focus attention on sustainable resources and the next practical step; its wording and sequence are original to Okkult.
What you’ll need
- A bowl of clean water
- A small pouring jug
- A lint-free towel
- A card and pencil
- Five dry beans
- A small bowl
The ritual
- Rinse the bowl, fill it from the jug, and wait until every visible ripple has stopped before writing. Arrange the workspace specifically for this abundance, removing anything that will not be used.
- Record one concrete resource goal and the next action that supports it on the tag, card, label, or paper provided. Assign the beans to money, time, skill, tools, and help. Remove any resource irrelevant to the goal. Keep this question visible while you work: “What appears calm only because nobody has touched it?”
- Place the paper beside the bowl and circle one finger above the water without touching it. Align a bowl of clean water with the written quantity, date, or resource so the desired abundance remains measurable.
- Move the scarcest bean closest to the object, say “What I tend with care has room to grow,” and name the intervention that would test whether the situation is truly stable.
- Pour the water into a houseplant or outdoor soil and dry the bowl. Take the written financial, work, or household action within one day.
